PowerPivot for Excel 2010

Tonight I played with PowerPivot for Excel 2010.  It took me about 1 hour to complete the install of the 64 bit installation.  In the same hour I was able to import 1 million+ records into my workbook with two supporting tables, create relationships between the tables, and produce a useable and useful report which allows dynamic filtering and drag and drop field placement.  I was very surprised how easy it was to pull this information into PowerPivot and create something that would be extremely useful for business analysts at work.  The only downside is the requirement that the analyst has Excel 2010.  PowerPivot can be downloaded for free from http://www.powerpivot.com/.  There are also many useful videos to help you get going on that site.  PowerPivot does not require any specific version of MS SQL Server.  This software can pull data in from many datasources and they do not need to be any particular version.  I’ll have to see if I can post a screencast or two on this.
